You could even combine 2 separate controllers into 1 emulated controller.Pinnacle Game Profiler is a game control software developed by PowerUp Software. But it had the ability to create an emulated joystick, and you could map the input of other devices to that joystick. Now, I know there used to be a program called PPJoy - which originally intended to take the parallel port input and use ps2 controllers with the PC i believe. But you can remap them however you want!Ĥ: NEXT target (so with no target list, it won't do nothing) This emulated controller can have all the same buttons/axis your gamepad has. It consists of creating an emulated joystick on the computer, and setting it up as the default device. I do not know it it can be changed, seeing as it is hard-coded. I know, it is unregular, playing TAW with a gamepad (so don't say, use a stick: I have a stick that works also fine!) but I am using it with my laptop, when I am mobile (no space for a stick).Ībout the pre-mapped buttons, I have also stumbled upon this limitation for the button mapping. This limits the possibilities for key-mapping alot. Problem is, that these standard-buttons are persistent also when trying to make shifting-key-mappings with the mentioned profiler. Is there any possibility to erase these 4 buttons out of TAW? I did not find any option (or file) in the game folder, that could help. Just read in this forum (via search function), that these buttons (and axis) definitions are static.

So, I am still using the standard-button-layout plus extra (shifting) controls via the profiler. The "Pinnacle Game Profiler" is not able to overwrite this matter. So far so good.ĭespite, there is the fact, that TAW is using 4 standard key-buttons (Fire, AA-Mode, AG-Mode, Target-Change) on that controller. Recently, I play TAW with an original PS3-Controller and using the software "Pinnacle Game Profiler" which is for keymapping the controller (works fine). So first of all, thank you all for the great work on TAW 2.0! I am loving it and enjoying the campaigns and missions once more! Maybe I plan to play online in the near future! It was a pleasure to see, that there is recently a community and progress in Total Air War (which is one of my beloved classic games, that introduces me to modern fighters simulations).
